Prickly pear seed oil

Anyone who knows us knows that we love prickly pear seed oil, because this valuable vegetable oil contains concentrated plant power.

Prickly Pear Seed Oil (Opuntia Ficus Indica Seed Oil)

Prickly pear seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the fruits of the North African prickly pear cactus, whose botanical name is Opuntia ficus-indica.

The prickly pear cactus grows as a shrub or tree and consists of several branches with spiny leaves that serve as defense. It is a fascinating plant and a true survivor, as it is particularly adapted to the dry conditions in the desert-like regions of Morocco. It survives with extremely little water, as its spiny skin is an excellent water reservoir. The flowers are located at the end of the stem, are yellow to red, and have a diameter of 5 to 10 centimeters. The egg-shaped to oblong, green, orange, or red fruits are 6 to 10 centimeters long.

We use organically certified, cold-pressed, and 100% pure prickly pear seed oil. The seeds come from the Sidi Ifni region on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. They are gently cold-pressed into prickly pear seed oil in our producer's laboratory.

The oil is extremely rich in amino acids, vitamin K, and essential fatty acids (omega 6 and 9) for a radiant complexion. This powerful antioxidant effect neutralizes free radicals, thus counteracting cell deterioration and skin aging.
