#skinschool Our skin in summer

☀️ In summer our skin changes due to rising temperatures and increased UV radiation.

🌡️ Why skin becomes oilier in summer

  • Sebum production increases : Heat stimulates the sebaceous glands to produce more skin fat (sebum).

  • Sweat mixes with sebum : This can clog pores more quickly.

  • UV radiation thickens the skin : The top layer of skin becomes thicker, which can further narrow the pores.

  • T-zone particularly affected : forehead, nose and chin have more sebaceous glands and shine more quickly.

The cause: When we sweat, our skin loses fluid. Our body compensates for this loss with increased sebum production. Additionally, salty seawater or chlorinated pool water, sunscreen, and air conditioning irritate the skin barrier.

What does our skin need in summer?

🌿 1-2 times a week a mask with Pure Clean Face absorbs excess sebum, cleanses and the gentle peeling effect prevents clogged pores.
I love customizing my Pure Clean face mask. Whether it's adding a few drops of Intensive Daycare Facial Oil for extra nourishment or honey to combat impurities.

🧪 SOS Pure Clean Mask against impurities
Here's a quick recipe I like to use in the summer to give sun-tanned skin extra moisture and prevent breakouts:

1 tsp Pure Clean Face - draws sebum and dirt out of the pores

1 tsp rose water - soothes, moisturizes and has a mild antibacterial effect

1 tsp ripe avocado (mashed) - supports skin regeneration in case of irritated skin or pimples

1 tsp honey - antibacterial and moisturizing

Mix all ingredients until a creamy paste forms. Apply the mask with the mask brush, either partially or over the entire face.

Allow the mask to dry slightly and leave on for a maximum of 5 minutes. Thoroughly remove the mask with warm water or a damp Organic Face Cloth .

💡 Extra tips for pimple alert

  • Keep your hands off! Don't press – that will worsen inflammation.

  • Cool compresses with chamomile tea help with redness.

  • Apply 1 drop of argan oil locally - has an anti-inflammatory and cell-renewing effect.

And from the inside?

  • Drink enough (at least 2 liters per day)
  • Lukewarm instead of ice-cold showers
  • Eat lots of red fruits and vegetables
  • reduce sugary and spicy foods
  • If possible, be in the shade from 12:00 to 15:00, otherwise wear a sun hat and sunscreen
