Self-care rituals for every day

Self-care rituals for every day

"You can't pour from an empty cup, take care of yourself first." If we're not feeling well, if our energy reserves are depleted, then we can't be there for others.

Taking care of yourself and taking care of yourself first is very important. If you constantly rush through life in constant stress without paying attention to your own needs, you'll eventually burn out.

Taking care of yourself isn't selfish. Whether it's dancing to your favorite music, doing breathing exercises, taking a break from social media, or treating yourself to some serious body care.

Everyone defines self-care differently for themselves, but ultimately self-care rituals have one thing in common: They are conscious breaks to get some distance, to simply breathe deeply, to slow down and to find out what body and soul really need in that moment.

My favorite self-care rituals

As a mom, moments to yourself are rare and precious. Scheduling enough time, if possible, helps immensely. A candle, music, or incense sticks create a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

The Moroccan bathing ritual :

This ritual stimulates circulation and leaves your skin feeling velvety soft. For the ritual, run a warm bath at a pleasant temperature of 38°C, add a few drops of your favorite argan oil body oil for the senses, and perhaps a handful of dried flowers. Enjoy the warmth and tranquility of the bath to unwind and engage all your senses.

Once your skin is soft, massage your body with the Moroccan Kesse glove, starting from the feet up. Use circular motions to remove dead skin. Finish with a cold shower and moisturize your skin with a little body oil . Then, snuggle up with a fine tea.

The DIY body scrub:

The recipe is as simple as it is effective. Mix brown sugar and PURE ARGAN ARGANOIL in a 1:1 ratio in a small bowl. Apply the paste using circular motions and then rinse off. Your feet or hands will be instantly pleasantly soft and cared for. It's recommended to sit while applying the paste to avoid slipping.

Hair Oiling:

Sounds pretty trendy. But hair care with oils has been a tradition for centuries (e.g., in Oriental countries). Once a week, I treat myself to a hair oil mask. First, I moisten the roots and parting, then the rest of my hair with water. Then, using my hands, massage a nut-sized amount of REPAIR HAIRCARE hair oil into the roots and parting. Then, using a comb, distribute the treatment all the way to the ends. Finally, I can apply any excess hair oil from my hands to the ends.

Now leave the hair oil on for at least 15-20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with shampoo once or twice. Your hair will instantly feel fresher, have a fantastic shine, and can then be styled as usual.

DIY facial steam bath:

This ritual opens clogged pores, removes dirt particles, and gently disinfects them. I use dried chamomile flowers from Morocco. (You can also buy them pre-packaged at your local pharmacy.) For the steam bath, pour 1 liter of boiling water into a large bowl. Add 3 tablespoons of the dried chamomile flowers to the water and let it steep for 5 minutes.

Then, hold your face over the bowl and cover your head and face with a towel. Breathe slowly, close your eyes, and enjoy the soothing essential chamomile vapors. Your skin will then be much more receptive to a clarifying or nourishing mask , followed by a sufficient moisturizer.

And don't forget: moments of self-care are not selfish, but very important for our body, mind and soul.
