Help for dehydrated skin
Clear, natural, and fresh skin isn't just a frequently quoted beauty claim. It's something we all want to have, because ultimately, we simply want to feel good in our own skin.
The reality is often different. Factors such as environmental influences, sun, dry indoor air, improper skincare products (or over-care), tension, and stress can all take their toll on our skin. Our skin is prone to wrinkles, redness, flaking, or pimples.
In order to improve the skin’s appearance, it is important to find out the cause:
- Does your skin not feel smooth despite using cream?
- Does your skin feel tight right after washing and need immediate care?
- Does your skin feel dry and prone to blemishes?
- Is your skin pale and dull?
- Does your skin have visible fine wrinkles and lines?
Then you probably have dehydrated skin, not dry skin. Because dry and dehydrated skin are not the same thing.
What is the difference between dry and dehydrated skin?
Dry skin is a skin type where the skin produces too little of its own oil. Learn more about what helps dry skin here .
Dehydrated skin is a condition (regardless of skin type) in which the skin lacks moisture.
Both dry and oily skin types can have dehydrated skin at the same time. Dehydrated skin lacks moisture from within, meaning you don't drink enough or the skin's moisture balance (i.e., the water content of the stratum corneum is very low) is out of balance.
This means that dehydrated skin produces enough of its own oil, but due to a damaged skin barrier, it cannot be retained in the skin and evaporates.
While dry skin needs rich oils and plant butters , dehydrated skin needs more moisture. Your ideal product is Soothing Nectar .
Cleansing: Apply BALANCING TONIC generously to a dry face and décolleté. Massage a small amount of MIRACLE BEAUTY into your skin, then cleanse with a lukewarm, damp FACE CLOTH .
Moisture: Then use the pipette to gently press 5-7 drops of SOOTHING NECTAR onto cleansed, still damp skin on the face and neck so that the active plant substances are optimally absorbed by the skin.
Care: Follow with MIRACLE BEAUTY orROYAL NIGHT SERUM to lock in moisture in the skin.
Further tips:
Gentle cleansing: Avoid cleansing products with harsh surfactants (high foaming) or sulfates. These dry out the skin. Clay can also further dry out a damaged skin barrier. Rose water or cleansing products with mild surfactants are sufficient. Limescale-containing tap water can also dry out the skin. Try to avoid tap water as much as possible. Or moisturize your skin afterward with rose water and Soothing Nectar. You can use oil to gently remove makeup.
Moisturizing mask: Treat yourself to a moisturizing mask once a week. This DIY mask, mixed with yogurt and avocado, hydrates and promotes radiant skin. It's important to remove the mask while it's still slightly damp and not let it dry completely.
Drying alcohols: Avoid skincare products with alcohol as the second or third ingredient in the INCI list. They make the skin barrier permeable, allowing moisture to escape.
All love,
Kathleen
